The start of Rapale International School goes back more than 20 years. A few missionaries working for Wycliffe Bible Translators in Mozambique needed a teacher for their children.
Ms Peggy Dancy, a retired teacher from the US came and started a small teaching center named Morning Star. In 1998 this school moved from its original location Pemba to Nampula and gradually more children were accepted. From that moment the need for English Christian education started to grow very fast and it was decided that an independent Board would run the school. In order to plan for the future growth a piece of land was bought 15km outside Nampula and the School was named Rapale International School. RIS is now in its 8th year of operation.
‘To nurture young people to think, speak and act from a God saturated world view and to live transformationally in their relevant spheres.’
‘Rapale International School commits to provide an excellent, holistic, English education in a Christ honouring environment in which every child is encouraged to fulfill their unique potential.’
Rapale International School plans to establish a fully operational primary and secondary school using Cambridge IGCSE as the end examination goal. Most of our growth is presently at the Grade 0 and Grade 1 level where children of all different language backgrounds are welcome.
